091115 New Windsor vs Washingtonville
- Division 2 Eagles Undefeated Season Ends (8-10)
- The D2 New Windsor Eagles had a very exciting and successful 2009 football season, but it unfortunately came to an end with an extremely tough 10-8 2nd round playoff loss to the Washingtonville Bulldogs on Sunday, November 15th, 2009. The game was originally scheduled to be played at the Mount Airy Sports Complex in New Windsor, but due to the rain and the beating the field took from the 12 hour soccer tournament the day before and a men’s football game earlier in the day, the game was moved to Lasser Park in Washingtonville giving the Bulldogs the home field advantage.
- The Eagles defense was tough and forced Washingtonville to six 3 and outs and one turnover in the nine offensive drives that the Bulldogs had. The big play for Washingtonville was the 40 yard TD pass on the first play of the 2nd quarter followed by the 2 point kick for the 8-0 lead. They extended their lead to 10-0 in the 3rd quarter when they sacked the Eagles QB in the endzone for the safety.
- Leading the defense were Angelo Foster-Rodriguez with 6 solo tackles and 2 assists, Andrew Harper 5 solo tackles and 2 assists, and Brennen Piekarz with 5 solo tackles. Also getting in on the defense were Justin Mitchell (3 solos 1 fumble recovery), Sean Dunnigan (2 solos 1 assist 1 forced fumble), Michael Tetrault (2 solos), Javen Stepp-Davis (1 solo 3 assists), Taylor Williams (1 solo 2 assists), Jonte Wilson (1 solo) and Justin Allen and Tyler Allen (1 assist each).
- The lone Eagles touchdown came late in the fourth quarter when Mitchell scampered 5 yards for the score. Stepp-Davis converted the 2 point kick to make it 10-8. This brought new life to the Eagles bringing them with a field goal to win the game. The Eagles were driving again but fell one play short of converting the first down and watched as the Bulldogs QB took a knee to end the game. The Eagles team and organization will have to regroup once again this offseason and find a way to get that zebra off their back that has lead to another early exit in the playoffs.
- The D2 New Windsor Eagles did have some major accomplishments this year that should not be overlooked. They finished the regular season undefeated with a perfect 8-0 record with over 2,300 yards total offense and outscored their opponents 245-22. The defense posted 7 shutouts and allowed only 2 touchdowns in 41 quarters of football. Each and every player should be proud of their accomplishments this season as each and every one of them played a major role in the success of the 2009 Eagles. It was a privilege and an honor to coach these 27 fine athletes and young men. Congratulations to our 2009 D2 Eagles: #20 Tyler Allen, #13 Justin Allen, #77 Matthew Bongiorni, #58 Adrian Broe, #7 Matthew Carlone, #88 Domenick Colotti, #76 Chris Decker, #5 Lucas Donnellan, #48 Sean Dunnigan, #54 Noah Fields, #1 Anthony Fiscal, #24 Angelo Foster-Rodriguez, #45 Tomas Guzman, #99 Andrew Harper, #2 Lionel Lucas, #33 Donavan Mcevoy, #28 Justin Mitchell, #26 Brennen Piekarz, #12 Wilfred Quijano, #3 Ryan Skivington, #83 Javen Stepp-Davis, #63 Michael Tetrault, #21 Matthew Ulrich, #56 Jack Walsh, #36 Taylor Williams, #42 Jonte Wilson, and #51 Jordan Wright.

Another thank you goes out to Sheila and John Stepp-Davis for contributing photos to the newwindsorfootball.com website and Nancy and Bill Mitchell for their photos and the valuable game videos they provided the coaching staff.
- The season would not be complete if it was not for the lovely and talented New Windsor Eagles Cheerleaders and their never ending support of the D2 Eagles football team. You could always count on them to do a fabulous job of executing their cheers, routines, and firing up the Eagles offense and defense. The 2009 New Windsor Eagle Cheerleaders were Coaches Kristin Nolan, Stepanie Spellman, and Elizabeth Carr and Cheerleaders Caely Baines, Jessica Carlone, Nicole Defabio, Brittany Drake, Katherine Garcia, Melissa Hughes, Amanda O’Neill, Melissa Olmeda, Sidney Ramos, Brianna Schafer, Nicole Scheck, Sade Smalls, Samantha Soriano, and Celine Velez.

We are looking forward to another successful season in both divisions. As of November 27th, there is only 247 days until training camp opens on August 2nd, 2010.
091108 New Windsor vs Middletown Middies
- Division 2 Eagles Remain Undefeated After First Round (31-0)
- One down and two to go as the Division 2 New Windsor Eagles eliminated the Middletown Middies 31-0 in the first round of the playoffs on Sunday, November 8th, 2009. The victory puts the Eagles one step closer to the upcoming Division 2 Super Bowl. The Eagles defense dominated the Middies offense for the second time this season by allowing just 90 yards of total offense, 68 of it was in the 2nd half when the game was already out of reach for the Middies. The defense also had 2 big interceptions that led to 13 points for the Eagles. The Eagles offense continues to put up big numbers with 276 total yards. The Eagles performance is really terrifying the scouts in attendance from the remaining playoff teams.
- The Eagles started the game on offense at their 35 yard line and were moving the ball downfield with ease before an Eagles fumble gave the Middies the ball at their 20 yard line. The Middies offense encountered a quick 3 and out and punted on 4th down. On first down, Javen Stepp-Davis would drop the Fullback at the line of scrimmage to bring up 2nd and 10. Michael Tetrault would come from his Defensive End position to tackle the Halfback after a 4 yard pickup up the middle. Brennan Piekarz and Andrew Harper would team up to drop the Halfback for a 3 yard loss and bring out the Middies punt team. The punt would go for 19 yards and Angelo Foster-Rodriguez would return it for 20, putting the Eagles at the Middies 20 yard line.
- Halfback Justin Mitchell would pick up 5 yards on 1st down and then take it 15 yards to the endzone on 2nd down for the 6-0 Eagles lead. Key blocking by Center Brennen Piekarz, Left Guard Jordan Wright, Left Tackle Anthony Fiscal, and Left End Domenick Colotti opened the holes for Mitchell.
- The Middies would start their next offensive possession at their 35 yard line. They would pick up a quick first down on 2 plays with Harper (1 solo) and Mitchell and Sean Dunnigan (1 assist each) making the tackles. On 1st and 10 from the Middies 45, Jonte Wilson would begin the pursuit of the QB and him and Foster-Rodriguez would wrap the QB up for a 5 yard loss. On 2nd and 15, pressure on the line by Wilfred Quijano and Lucas Donnellan would force a high snap while the QB was in the shotgun. The Middies QB would find himself being chased by a whole lot of Eagles with Dunnigan and Harper would be the ones to get to him, dropping him for a 15 yard loss. On 3rd and 30, the QB got to the outside but was stopped by Harper after a pickup of 5. Facing 4th and 25, the Middies tried a fake punt, but Harper was not fooled and tackled the punter 21 yards short of the first down.
- The Middies next drive would begin at their 27 yard line. They would run 10 plays, but only net 3 yards on the drive before punting. On 1st and 10, Tetrault would tackle the HB at the Middies 30 yard line. Incomplete passes on 2nd and 3rd downs would bring up 4th and 7. The Middies would try another fake punt and would get 15 yards before chasing the punter out of bounds at the 45 yard line. On 1st and 10, Safety Justin Allen would tackle the HB at the Eagles 49 yard line to bring up 2nd and 4. Harper and Dunnigan would get into the backfield and drop the QB for a 2 yard loss. Two Middletown penalties would push the Middies back to their 35 yard line. Dunnigan would push them back 5 more yards after dropping the QB at their 30 yard line. Facing 4th and 25, the Middies punted.
With a little over 5 minutes left in the half, the Eagles would quickly turn a 6-0 lead into an 18-0 lead. On offense, the Eagles would begin their next drive at their 39 yard line. Their rushing attack would go 61 yards on 14 plays for the touchdown. Leading the drive were Foster-Rodriguez (2 carries, 27 yards, 1 TD), Mitchell (5 carries, 51 yards) and FB Noah Fields getting the big first down on 4th and 2 at the Middies 17 yard line. Mitchell had a 66 yard TD called back due to an Eagles penalty. The ground game was helped by big blocks on the right side by Right Guard Tomas Guzman, Right Tackle Taylor Williams, and Right End Tetrault.
- The Middies would start their next drive at their 35 yard line. Following an incompletion on first down, Tyler Allen would chase down the HB and tackle him at the 40 yard line. On 3rd and 5, the Middies QB’s pass would be picked off by Foster-Rodriquez and he would return it 26 yards to the Eagles 34 yard line. The Eagles offense would take over with 19 seconds remaining in the half. With enough time for one more play, QB Ryan Skivington would hit Tight End Chris Decker for the 34 yard touchdown and 18-0 Eagles lead.
- The Middies would begin the 2nd half on offense at their 35 yard line. Defensive End Wilson and Guard Matthew Bongiorni would pressure the QB into an incompletion on 1st down. The HB would gain 5 yards on 2nd and on 3rd down with Harper and Mitchell making the tackles. On 1st and 10, Matt Carlone would bring down the FB after a pick up of 4. On 2nd and 6, Angelo would drop the HB for a loss of 2 as he tried to get to the outside. On 3rd and 8, Wilson would pressure another incompletion by the QB to bring up 4th and 8. An Eagles offsides penalty would help the Middies as the HB would pickup 7 on 4th and 3 for the first down with Carlone and Justin Allen combining for the tackle. This was as good as the drive was going to get for the Middies. Mitchell would drop the QB for a 3 yard loss on 1st down. A False Start penalty by Middletown, followed by a 1 yard pickup by the HB would bring up 3rd and long. The Middies QB would throw a pass downfield that would be picked off by Decker at the New Windsor 40 yard line. He would race 60 yards for the touchdown and 24-0 Eagles lead. Extra point specialist Lionel Lucas would get the extra point for the Eagles and push the lead to 25-0.
- With the league’s mercy rule in effect, Middletown would begin their next drive at midfield. They would gain 3 yards on 8 plays before turning the ball over on downs. Leading the defense were Stepp-Davis (1 solo and 3 assists), Harper (1 solo 1 assist), Mitchell, Tyler Allen, and Dunnigan (1 assist each). The 2 big plays were the 6 yard sack of the QB by Wright to bring up 4th and 19 and Harper getting into the backfield and deflecting the pass on 4th and 19.
- An Eagles turnover gave the Middies the ball right back at the New Windsor 46. The Middies would drive to the Eagles 4 yard line before being stopped by the Eagles defense on 4th and goal. Leading the defensive stand were Harper (3 solos 1 assist), Colotti (2 solos), Donnellan, Foster-Rodriguez, and Fields (1 solo each), and Wright (1 assist). Stopping the run up the middle during the Eagles big goal line stance were Donovan Mcevoy and Quijano.
- The turnover on downs would put the Eagles at the 7 yard line, but that would not matter, because they would go 93 yards on 5 plays for the score with HBs Lucas and Matt Ulrich leading the way. Two straight carries by Lucas would get the Eagles to the 18. Following an Eagles False Start penalty, Ulrich would gain 25 yards on 2 carries to put the Eagles at their 39 yard line. Lucas would follow a crushing block by FB Williams and key blocks by Jack Walsh, Adrian Broe, and Carlone and would race along the sideline for a 61 yard TD. This TD pushed the score to 31-0.
- With 1:19 left in the game and no timeouts, the Middies were only able to run 4 more plays. Decker had 2 solo tackles and Donnellan and Stepp-Davis had 1 each.
- Following a successful day at CheerFest 2009, in which they drew rave reviews from all those in attendance, the New Windsor Eagles Cheerleaders were there to cheer on the Eagles and support them in their postseason victory. The victory gives the Eagles the #1 seed in the Division 2 ACC conference. The Eagles are proud of their accomplishment, but know their journey is not over, and need 3 more wins to be the Division 2 Super Bowl Champions.
- The Eagles defense was dominate once again forcing the Cougars offense to 3 and out on five of their first six offensive series with the other offensive series ending with an Eagles interception. The Eagles offense pounded out 271 yards offense and the score could have been worse with 2 Eagles touchdowns being called back because of penalties.
- The Cougars started the game on offense at their 35 yard line and had their first 3 and out. On 1st and 10, Andrew Harper stopped the Halfback at the 44 to bring up 2nd and 1. Brennen Piekarz and Matt Ulrich grabbed the Halfback and dropped him for a 7 yard loss to bring up 3rd and 8. Sean Dunnigan dropped the Fullback for a loss of 9 to bring out the Cougars punt team. On 4th and 9, Chester decided to punt. The punt went for 24 yards and with a nice bounce, Justin Mitchell grabbed the ball at the Eagles 40 yard line. With that perfect bounce there wasn’t anyone on the Eagles sideline that didn’t know 6 points wasn’t far away as Justin ran 60 yards for the touchdown and 28-0 Eagles lead.

Three plays for a total of 10 yards would get the Cougars to the 15 with tackles by Wilfred and Ryan and assists by Andrew and Taylor. This is as good as it was going to get for the Cougars. Wilfred and Jordan would sack the QB for a loss of 5 on first down. Andrew and Ryan would read the reverse and drop the Wingback at the line of scrimmage to bring up 3rd down. Andrew would drop the HB for a 3 yard loss to bring up 4th and 18 at the Eagles 23. Domenick and Andrew would see the reverse and tackle the Wingback at the 21 yard line for the turnover on downs.
- The Eagles offense took over at the 21 yard line. Matt Ulrich rumbled off 20 yards on 1st down. Three plays later Quarterback Sean Dunnigan ran 60 yards for the touchdown, but it was called back due to a Clipping penalty on the Eagles. With 20 seconds remaining in the game, the Eagles let the clock run out without calling another play.

- JBK would get to their 16 yard line before turning the ball over on downs. Making the tackles were Tyler and Javen on 1st down, Justin Mitchell on 2nd down, and Noah Fields on 3rd down. Noah would knock down the pass on 4th down to prevent the first down.

Jonte would not be fooled by the reverse and would be in the backfield to drop the WB for an 8 yard loss. On 4th and 22, a questionable QB sneak would be stopped at the line of scrimmage by Matt Bongiorni.
- The Eagles offense would get the ball at their 43 yard line and would go 57 yards on 4 plays for the touchdown. On 1st and 10, Matt Ulrich would run 10 yards to the JBK 47. FB Noah would earn his 4 yards by carrying JBK tacklers with him. Two plays later, HB Justin Mitchell would break out to the left side because of a key block by Tight End Donavan Mcevoy, and run 43 yards for the touchdown. Javen would convert the 2 point kick for the 24-0 lead.
- The 24 point lead would put the league’s mercy rule in affect and the JBK would start their next drive at midfield. The JBK would get to the Eagles 30 with Anthony Fiscal making the tackle on 4th down to force the turnover on downs. The key defensive plays were Jonte once again reading the reverse and dropping the WB for a 5 yard loss, Wilfred’s hard hit on the QB for a 2 yard loss, Javen blasting the QB to force an incompletion, and Jack and Angelo stopping the QB on the outside keeping a potential big gain to a minimal gain.
- JBK’s next offensive possession would start at their 45 yard line. They would put together their best drive of the game by going 47 yards on 17 plays before being stopped on 4th down at the Eagles 8 yard line. Making the tackles were Justin Mitchell (3 solos 2 assists), Javen (2 solos), Domenick, Angelo, Taylor, and Jonte (1 solo 1 assist each), Matt Carlone and Andrew (1 solo each) and Chris and Brennen (2 assists each).
- Most teams would be worried being at their own 8 yard line, but there are no worries when you have the Eagles offensive line and running game. On 1st and 10, HB Justin Mitchell would get a key block on the right side by Adrian and would do the rest as he would run 92 yards for the touchdown. Justin would convert the extra point and increase the Eagles lead to 31-0.
- JBK’s last offensive possession of the game began at midfield and lasted just 2 plays. On 1st and 10, Lucas Donnellan would pressure the QB and Justin Allen would break up the pass for the incompletion. On 2nd and 10, a gang of Eagles defenders would hit the QB forcing a fumble and Javen would recover the ball for the Eagles fourth turnover of the game. The Eagles running game would run out the clock and seal the victory.

091010 New Windsor vs Middletown Middies
- Division 2 Eagles Remain Undefeated (12-6)
- The undefeated Division 2 New Windsor Eagles travelled to Middletown to face the undefeated Middletown Middies on Saturday, October 10th, 2009 at a cold, wet, and muddy Watts Field. The Eagles and the Middies battled for 4 quarters with the Eagles scoring the go ahead touchdown with just 29 seconds remaining in the game. The Eagles defense and special teams combined for an unheard of 3 safeties with the defense shutting down the Middies big running attack by allowing just 1 yard of total offense and forcing 4 turnovers in the game. The Eagles offense would threaten to score throughout the game, but would be held to 1 touchdown, but that is all they would need as the Eagles continue to set themselves up as the #1 seed in the OCYFL Division 2 ACC Conference as they improved to 5-0.
- The Middies would start the game on offense at their 35 yard line. They would go 18 yards on 5 plays before the Eagles D would force their first of 4 turnovers. This would be the Middies best drive of the game. On 1st and 10, Andrew Harper would chase down the Middies big Halfback for the tackle, but not after a pickup of 12. On 1st and 10, Justin Mitchell would tackle the Fullback after a pickup of 2. On 2nd and 8, Nose Tackle Lucas Donnellan wrapped up the Quarterback after a pickup of 2. On 3rd and 6, the QB would hit the Wingback for a 6 yard pickup and the first down with Chris Decker making the tackle. On 1st and 10 at the NW 43, Sean Dunnigan would drop the big Halfback for a 4 yard loss. With 2nd and long the QB threw the ball down field where it was picked off by Justin Mitchell at the New Windsor 33.
- The Eagles offense would go 3 and out. Punter Sean Dunnigan would get off a 27 yard punt and the Middies would return it 15 yards with Domenick Colotti forcing the Punt Returner out of bounds at the New Windsor 45. On 1st and 10, Safety Justin Allen would apply the pressure on the Middies receiver to force the incompletion. Taylor Williams would make the stop at the line of scrimmage on 2nd down. Another incomplete pass by the Middies would force them to punt.
- The Eagles offense would take over at their 28 yard line. A fumble by the Eagles would give the Middies the ball in the red zone at the Eagles 19 yard line. The Middies offensive possession would not last long as a bad snap over the QB’s head would quickly be recovered by Sean Dunnigan giving the Eagles the ball back at their 26.
- The Eagles offense would stall and be forced to punt on 4th and 5 at their 31 yard line. Sean would get off another good punt that would go for 29 yards and be picked up by the Middies return guy at their 40 yard line. He would get to the outside and race along the sideline for 60 yards and the touchdown to give the Middies the 6-0 lead.
- The Eagles offense would start their next possession at their 35 yard line and would go 64 yards before being stopped on the Middies 1 yard line. The big plays of the were the 19 yard run by Justin Mitchell, QB Ryan Skivington hitting Justin for 17 yards, and the 15 yard Middletown facemask penalty. The offensive line of Left End Domenick Colotti, Left Tackle Anthony Fiscal, Left Guard Jordan Wright, Center Brennen Piekarz, Right Guard Tomas Guzman, Right Tackle Taylor Williams, and Right End Michael Tetrault did a top notch job of pass blocking and opening the holes for the Eagles running attack.
- The turnover on downs would give the Middies the ball at their 1 yard line. On the first play of the drive, the Eagles defense would overpower the Middies offensive line and get the Eagles first safety of the night with Javen Stepp-Davis and Chris Decker making the tackle.
- With the safety, the Eagles offense would get the ball at midfield. Unfortunately it would be another quick 3 and out. A 21 yard punt would put the Middies offense at their 25 yard line. On 2nd and 10, Angelo Foster-Rodriguez would intercept the pass and return it to the Middies 30 yard line. The Eagles would get ball to the Middies 17 before turning over the ball on downs. The big play of the drive was the acrobatic catch by Tight End Michael Tetrault as he caught the ball on his back while sliding in the mud at the 21 yard line.
- With time running out in the 1st half, the Middies only play of the drive would go for a loss of 2 as Jonte Wilson and Sean Dunnigan would team up to bring down the Halfback.
- The Eagles would start the 2nd half at their 35 and go 12 yards before having to punt. The punt would be dropped by the punt returner and Brennen Piekarz would be there to recover the ball for the Eagles. The Eagles offense would take over on the Middies 45 yard line. A Middies Illegal Substitution penalty would give the Eagles 1st and 5 at the Middies 40 yard line. Angelo would pick up 7 to bring up 1st and 10 at the 33. Matt Ulrich would get the next 2 carries and would go for 4 and 8 before being tackled in the mud at the 21 yard line. Lionel Lucas, Justin Mitchell, and Matt would get the Eagles into the red zone, but the drive would stall at the 15 and the Eagles would turn the ball over on downs. Nice blocking on the line by Matt Carlone and Donavan Mcevoy helped the running game with the big gains.
- The Middies would once again start on offense deep in their own territory. They would be driven backwards by a 5 yard sack by Sean on 1st down, a 5 yard False Start penalty, and a tackle of the Halfback for a loss of 2 by Andrew. The Middies would bring out their punt team as they faced 4th and 22 from their 3 yard line. The Eagles special teams would blast through the line and Javen would block the punt and the ball would roll out of the endzone for the 2nd safety of the night. This would cut the Middies lead to 6-4.
- The Eagles offense would get the ball again at midfield. Justin Mitchell would carry for 3 yards on 1st down and 21 on 2nd down, with key blocks from Jordan, Anthony, and Domenick, before being tackled in the mud at the 24 yard line. A couple of sacks, an Eagles penalty, and an incomplete pass would help lead to the turnover on downs at the Middies 35.
- By the 4th quarter, you could visibly see that the Eagles defense had really taken its toll on the Middies offense because the next two drives would result in two quick 3 and outs and -10 yards offense for the Middies. On 1st and 10 at the Middies 35, a gang of Eagles defenders would bring down the Halfback after a pickup of 5. Andrew would set the Halfback back 5 yards on the next play and stop the Fullback at the line of scrimmage for no gain on 3rd down to force the Middies to punt.
- The Eagles offense would have a quick 3 and out, but would get a great punt by Sean that put the Middies deep in their own territory. Sean had great protection to get the punt off because great blocking by Jack Walsh. The Middies would start the drive at their 11 and go backwards. On 1st and 10, Sean and a gang of defenders would drop the HB for a 6 yard loss. On 2nd and 16, Matt Bongiorni and Javen would drop the Fullback for a 3 yard loss. On 3rd and 19, Wilfred Quijano and Chris Decker would stop the Fullback for a 1 yard loss to bring up 4th and 20 at the Middies 1 yard line. The punt would once again be blocked by Javen in the endzone but, the Middies would recover the ball for the safety instead of the touchdown.
- The Eagles would get the ball at midfield with 3:48 to go in the game and the score tied at 6-6. Angelo would pick up 21 on 1st down. Two plays later Ryan would hit Justin Mitchell for a pickup of 15. The next play Justin would run the ball 15 yards and get tackled by the goal line. With the pylons down, it looked like Justin scored the go ahead touchdown, but was ruled down at the 1 yard line. Two plays later Fullback Noah Fields rumbled his way into the endzone for the 12-6 lead. With 29 seconds left and no timeouts left the Middies could only get one play off before time expired.
- Making the trip to Middletown to support the Eagles were the Eagles Cheerleaders. - Division 2 Eagles Get It Done Again (20-0)
- The Eagles pushed their record to 4-0 with an impressive 20-0 shutout against the visiting Warwick Gold on Saturday, October 3rd, 2009. The defense posted it’s 3rd shutout in 4 games and held the Warwick Gold offense to just 52 yards total. The Eagles offense on the other hand set a season high 291 yards total offense, was perfect in the red zone, and had 3 different ball carriers score touchdowns.
- The Gold started off on offense had nothing going it’s first two possessions as they both went a quick 3 and out. The first possession started at their 35 with Brennen Piekarz and Andrew Harper making the stop at the line on 1st and 10. The Halfback picked up 5 on second down with Justin Mitchell making the tackle. Angelo Foster-Rodriguez put an end to the drive by tackling the Fullback after a pickup of 2.
- The Eagles offense started the game at their 21 yard line and made their way to the endzone on an 11 play 79 yard scoring drive. The running attack of Lionel Lucas (2 carries 33 yards), Justin Mitchell (3 carries 15 yards), Angelo (2 carries 13 yards), Noah Fields (1 carry 8 yards) and a Warwick Gold Offsides penalty got the Eagles to the Warwick 5 yard line. That is where Noah finished off the drive as he rumbled 5 yards for the touchdown and quick 6-0 Eagles lead. The offensive line of Left End Domenick Colotti, Left Tackle Anthony Fiscal, Left Guard Jordan Wright, Center Brennen Piekarz, Right Guard Tomas Guzman, Right Tackle Taylor Williams, and Right End Michael Tetrault did a fantastic job of blocking defenders and opening the holes for the running game.
- The Gold started off on their 35 once again and went 4 yards on 3 plays before being forced to punt. Javen Stepp-Davis was not fooled by the reverse on 1st and 10 and stopped the Wingback after a minimal 2 yard gain. On 2nd and 8, Javen grabbed a hold of the Halfback and Andrew came in to finish off the tackle to bring up 3rd and 7. This play Andrew slowed up the Halfback and Linebacker Chris Decker came in to complete the tackle to bring up 4th down and bring out the Gold’s punt team.
- The Eagles offense got the ball at their 32 yard line and would once again march their way down the field with authority and score on a clock killing, 14 play, 68 yard drive. The running attack of Justin Mitchell, Lionel, Matt Ulrich, Angelo, and Noah would get the Eagles to the Warwick 34 yard line in 9 plays. On 1st and 10, an Eagles False Start penalty would bring up 1st and 15.
- This would quickly be erased as Quarterback Ryan Skivington would hit Tight End Michael Tetrault at the Warwick 22 for 17 yards and the first down. Three plays later the Eagles would be at the Gold 11 yard line and that is when Matt Ulrich will find the endzone and extend the Eagles lead to 12-0. Quarterback Sean Dunnigan would get a key block by Justin Mitchell and would run into the endzone for the extra point and 13-0 Eagles lead.
- Warwick would start their next possession at their 35 yard line. They would get their first 1st down of the game, but would be forced to punt after 6 plays. Making solo tackles were Sean, Javen, Matt Ulrich, and Wilfred Quijano, whose tackle prevented the Gold from getting another first down. Coming up with assists were Andrew and Javen.
- The Gold’s punt would put the Eagles deep in their own territory and they would start their next drive at their 15 yard line. They would make it to their own 49 yard line before turning the ball over on downs. The big play of the drive was Angelo’s 32 yard run on a 3rd and 17 from the Eagles 8 yard line. Nice blocks by Jack Walsh, Adrian Broe, and Donavan Mcevoy were key to the big pickup.
- The Gold’s last possession of the half would start at the New Windsor 49 yard line. An Eagles penalty would put the Gold at the 45. On 1st down, Jonte Wilson and Tyler Allen would chase the quarterback out of the pocket and Tyler would make the tackle after a loss of 10. This would be the last play of the half.
- The Gold would start their first drive of the second half with their best field position of the game at the Eagles 36, but the Eagles defense would not let them capitalize on this. The Gold would go 21 yards on the first 5 plays and get to the Eagles 15 with Andrew, Justin Mitchell, Angelo, and Taylor Williams making the tackles. On 1st and 10, Javen would make the stop at the line to bring up 2nd and 10. On the next play, Brennen would break through the line and drop the Halfback for a 2 yard loss. He would then see the bad snap on 3rd and 12 and fall on the Quarterback for the stop. The Gold would go for it on 4th and 12 from the 17, but Michael and Taylor would stop the drive by dropping the Halfback for a 1 yard loss.
- A quick 3 and out by the Eagles offense would give the Gold good field position once again, but they would go 3 and out and have -8 yards total offense on the drive. The big play of the drive would be the 8 yard sack of the QB on 3rd down by Michael and Chris, with pressure also being applied by Nose Tackle Lucas Donnellan and great coverage of the receivers by Safety Justin Allen.
- The Gold’s first possession of the 4th quarter would begin at their own 32 yard line and would go 8 plays and 18 yards before the Eagles defense would force the turnover on downs. Leading the defense were Justin Mitchell (2 solos 1 assist) Chris (2 solos) Javen (1 solo 1 assist) and Matt Ulrich (1 solo). Nice job by Matthew Bongiorni and Adrian Broe in filling the holes and disrupting the running game.
- The Eagles last possession of the game would start at midfield and would cap off their scoring on the day with a 9 play 50 yard drive. Two consecutive Eagles Holding penalties would bring up 2nd and long, but Sean would get the yardage back with pick ups of 10 on second and third downs to bring up 1st down on the Warwick 38. Three plays later, Andrew would bust through the line carrying tacklers, break tackles, carry more tacklers, and rumble 25 yards for the touchdown. He would then rumble 4 more yards for the successful extra point conversion and the 20-0 Eagles lead. Key blocks for the running games success were administered by Matthew Carlone, Domenick, Anthony, Tomas, and Jordan.
- The Eagles can count on the New Windsor Eagles Cheerleaders coming to the game and firing up the Eagles football team. 090927 New Windsor vs Marlboro
- Division 2 Eagles' Record Stays Clean, with a Defensive Win (12-6)
- What started out looking like it was going to be an offensive battle turned out to be a defensive clash between the New Windsor Eagles and Marlboro Black on Sunday, September 27th, 2009. Both teams marched down the field and scored on their first possession, with neither team scoring again until the Eagles went ahead and sealed the 12-6 victory in overtime. The victory pushes the Eagles record to 3-0.
- Marlboro Black started out on offense and went 65 yards on 10 plays to get the early 6-0 lead. This was the first TD the Eagles defense had given up this season. The 2 point kick got hit by an Eagle defender and fell short of the cross bar keeping the early Black lead to 6-0. On defense, the Eagles got solo tackles from Justin Mitchell (2), Taylor Williams, Sean Dunnigan, Matt Ulrich, Noah Fields, Matt Carlone, and assists by Brennen Piekarz and Justin Allen.
- The Eagles started their first drive at their own 35 yard line and struck right back with a 7 play 65 yard scoring drive. Justin Mitchell and Angelo Foster-Rodriguez got the Eagles to the 45 on 4 straight running plays. On 1st and 10, QB Ryan Skivington hit Tight End Michael Tetrault for the 21 yard pick up and put the Eagles in Marlboro territory. On 1st and 10, Angelo carried 7 yards to the 27 yard line. On 2nd and 3, Justin Mitchell got some key blocks on the right side, broke his way into the open, and ran 27 yards for the touchdown to tie the game at 6 all. The offensive line of Left End Domenick Colotti, Left Tackle Anthony Fiscal, Left Guard Jordan Wright, Center Brennen Piekarz, Right Guard Tomas Guzman, Right Tackle Taylor Williams, and Right End Michael Tetrault did a great job of pass blocking and opening the holes for the running game.
- Marlboro’s next possession began at their 35 yard line. The Eagles defense would bend but would not let Marlboro score as they stopped them on the Eagles 14 after a big 4th and 2 stand by the Eagles D. Getting solo tackles for the Eagles were Justin Mitchell (2), Jonte Wilson, Jordan Wright and assists by Justin Mitchell, Angelo, Jordan, and Brennen. On the big 4th and 2 play, Matt Bongiorni made the initial hit and then was helped by a gang of Eagles to push the Halfback backwards for the turnover on downs.
- Marlboro Black would gain 108 yards on the ground in the first quarter, but the Eagles defense would take charge and hold them to -4 yards rushing over the final 3 quarters of regulation and overtime. Marlboro would start their last possession of the first half at the Eagles 41. On 1st and 10, the QB would hit the Tight End for a 21 yard pick up. This is good as it would get for Marlboro. Brennen dropped the QB for a 4 yard loss on first down. On 2nd and 14, a fumble by the Marlboro Wingback during the reverse would drop the Wingback for a 14 yard loss with Angelo making the tackle. On 3rd and 28, Defensive End Michael Tetrault would stop the Halfback at the line of scrimmage to bring up 4th and 28. A bad snap would cause the Punter to make a run for it, but he couldn’t outrun Sean Dunnigan who made the tackle and forced the turnover on downs.
- In the 2nd half, the Eagles would move the ball well on the ground but the starting field position would be against them. Running the ball well in the 2nd half was Halfback Lionel Lucas. The offensive line of Left End Domenick Colotti, Left Tackle Anthony Fiscal, Left Guard Jordan Wright, Center Jack Walsh, Right Guard Tomas Guzman, Right Tackle Taylor Williams, and Right End Michael Tetrault would continue to battle and open the holes for the running game.
- The Eagles defense would hold Marlboro Black to just 22 yards of offense in the second half. Their four possessions would end in turnover on downs, punt, interception, and fumble. The Black’s first possession of the second half started at their 49 yard line. On first and 10, Michael stopped the QB after a pickup of 3. Brennen broke through the line and dropped the Halfback for a 4 yard loss to bring up 3rd and 11. Wilfred Quijano wrapped up the Fullback after a gain of 1 to bring up 4th and 10. On the next play Marlboro faked the punt and Michael and Brennen were there to make the stop and force the turnover on downs.
- Marlboro’s next possession started at their own 46 and was a quick 3 and out. Two bad exchanges between the QB and the center brought up a quick 3rd and 7. Brennen dropped the Halfback for a 3 yard loss forcing Marlboro to punt. Putting pressure on the center and playing a key role in forcing the bad snaps was Nose Tackle Lucas Donnellan.
- The Black’s play calling got really aggressive in their third possession of the half as they started off on the New Windsor 38 yard line. The first play saw Taylor knocking down a pass to bring up 2nd and 10. Angelo timed his hit on the Tight End perfectly as he broke up a pass down field to bring up 3rd and 10. Getting into the backfield and applying pressure on the QB on 1st and 2nd downs were Adrian Broe and Tyler Allen. On 3rd and 10, Justin and Brennen tackled the QB after a pickup of 2 to bring up 4th and 8 at the 36 yard line. Marlboro went for it on 4th down. The Halfback took the handoff, got some key blocks, and made his way to the outside and ran 36 yards for what looked like the go ahead touchdown. A Marlboro illegal formation penalty would nullify the TD and bring up 4th and 15 from the Eagles 43 yard line. A 25 yard completion would give Black a fresh set of downs at the Eagles 18. On 1st and 10, Matt Ulrich would read the option play and drop the Halfback for a 3 yard loss. The combination of a bad snap and Brennen breaking through the line would result in a 6 yard loss on 2nd down. Jordan would make the tackle on 3rd down after a pickup of 4. On 4th and 15, Black would go for it again and tried to pass down the middle, but it would be picked off by Justin Mitchell at the 10 yard line.
- Going into overtime the Eagles got the ball first at the Marlboro 20 yard line. The Eagles went for it all on first down and saw a pass land just out of the reach of Tight End Michael Tetrault that would have easily gone for a touchdown. A screen pass to Michael on 2nd down would pick up 16 and put the Eagles at the 4 yard line. Noah would run up the middle and get the Eagles to the 2. Three plays later on 4th and 2, Justin Mitchell would get into the endzone for the 12-6 lead. The extra point conversion would fail keeping the score 12-6.
- The pressure was now on Marlboro Black. Marlboro would start the drive at the New Windsor 20 yard line. Angelo would make the stop after a pickup of 2 to bring up 2nd and 8. Michael and a gang of Eagles defenders would stop the Halfback for a gain of 1 to bring up 3rd and 7. Justin Mitchell would make a great tackle after a pickup of 6. This would bring up 4th and 1 and possibly the last play of the game. A false start penalty by Black pushed them back 5 yards, but they would get it back on the next play with a 9 yard completion to the Tight End. With 1st and goal at the 7, Domenick and Sean would team up to make the tackle after a pickup of 2. Michael would make the tackle on 2nd down and goal after a pickup of 2. Black was facing a 3rd and goal at the 3 and Brennen quickly made it 4th down by stopping the Fullback at the line. On 4th and goal and the game on the line, Sean dropped the QB after no gain to end the drive and the game.
- The rain and cold weather on Sunday did not keep the New Windsor Eagles Cheerleaders from coming to the game and supporting the Eagles football team. A special thanks goes out to the Captains Kristin Nolan, Stephanie Spellman, and Elizabeth Carr, and Cheerleaders Caeley Baines, Melissa Hughes, Sidney Ramos, Brianna Schafer, Nicole Scheck, Sade Smalls, Samantha Soriano, and Celine Velez for the excitement they bring to the game and supporting the Eagles. 090912 New Windsor vs Washingtonville
- Division 2 Eagles Dominate Division Rival (22-0)
- The Division 2 New Windsor Eagles dominated another division rival as they defeated the Washingtonville Dozers 22-0 on Saturday, September 12th, 2009 at the Mount Airy Sports Complex. The Eagles defense posted their 2nd straight shutout and held Washingtonville to 33 yards total offense. The Eagles defense actually moved the ball more for the Dozers offense than they did by committing 37 yards in penalties. The Eagles offense put up 215 total yards offense, with a season high 11 first downs.
- The Eagles began the game on offense and started pounding the Dozers defense right away. The drive began on the Eagles 35 yard line and went 49 yards on 13 plays before an Eagles fumble gave the Dozers the ball at their own 16. Halfback Justin Mitchell carried 6 times for 28 yards, Fullback Javen Stepp-Davis carried 5 times for 15 yards, and Quarterback Ryan Skivington hit Tight End Michael Tetrault for a 6 yard pick up and the first down on a 3rd and 5. Pounding the Dozers defense and opening up holes for the running game were Domenick Colotti, Anthony Fiscal, Taylor Williams, Brennen Piekarz, Tomas Guzman, Matt Carlone, and Michael Tetrault.
- The Dozers started their first possession of the day at their 14 yard line. Sean Dunnigan began his great day on defense with a sack of the quarterback. Sean finished the day with a team high 7 solo tackles, 3 assists, and 1 sack. An Eagles passing interference penalty gave the Dozers a 27 yard pick up and a first down on their 43 yard line. Javen and Sean stopped the Fullback after a gain of 1 on 1st and 10. Sean made the tackle on 2nd and 9 after the Halfback made a 6 yard pick up. An Eagles offsides penalty gave the Dozers 1st and 10 on the Eagles 44 yard line. On 1st and 10, Javen stopped the Halfback behind the line for a 1 yard loss. On 2nd and 11 Sean made another solo tackle to bring up 3rd and 9. Angelo Foster-Rodriguez stopped the Halfback after a pickup of 5 yards to bring up 4th and 4. The Dozers decided to go for it and Matt Ulrich and Sean put an end to the drive and dropped the Quarterback for a 3 yard loss at the Eagles 41. This would be as close to the endzone as the Dozers would get for the rest of the game.
- The next two offensive possessions for the Dozers would end in a bad way for them. The first possession was a quick 3 and out with Taylor Williams making the tackle on first down. On 2nd and 7 the Dozers Halfback would have a gang of Eagles defenders chasing him backwards with Michael and Angelo combining for the tackle and a 13 yard loss. On 3rd and long Chris Decker sacked the Quarterback to force the Dozers to punt. The Dozers next possession began at their 15 yard line. Javen made the tackles on first and second down and pushed the Dozers back to their 10 yard line. On 3rd and 15 Linebacker Justin Mitchell would grab the first of three Eagles interceptions and run it back to the Dozers 5 yard line. Justin then took over at Halfback and on first and goal ran 5 yards for the touchdown and 6-0 Eagles lead. Key blocking by Matt Carlone and Tomas Guzman helped Justin find the endzone. Javen kicked the ball through the uprights for the 2 point conversion and 8-0 Eagles lead.
- The Dozers took over on offense on their last possession of the first half and the Eagles defense dominated once again. On 1st and 10 the Dozers tried to run the Halfback up the middle and Jonte Wilson busted through the line and dropped him for a 2 yard loss. Chris Decker made the solo tackle on 2nd down and teamed up with Justin Mitchell for the tackle on 3rd down. On 4th and short, the Dozers called the QB Sneak and picked up the first down with Adrian Broe and Javen teaming up to make the stop.
