  • Eagles Routed by Warriors.
  • Sunday, October 31, the New Windsor's Division 3 Eagles and Cheerleaders hosted their archrival the Newburgh Giants. Once again, the Eagles and Cheerleaders were enthusiastically supported by a very large group of parents, family, and friends. The Eagles were unable to mount a consistent attack against the playoff bound Giants. The Giants scored on their first two offensive possessions. A blocked punt and an intercepted pass were both returned for touchdowns. The Giants scored 26 points in the first half and cruised to a 33-0 victory.
  • The Eagle offense struggled throughout the entire game. Eagle quarterbacks Kevin McDonnell, and Anthony Zanetich, as well as running backs Josh Skowronski, Javaius Griffin, Byron Thomas, Toby Lee, Danny Sommer, and Nicholas Armstrong were forced to scramble for positive yardage. Javaius Griffin's debut as a running back was inspirational. Nick Armstrong's first reception of the year spurred the only Eagle drive of the afternoon. For most of the game the Eagles did not have time to pass to open receivers. The offensive line combination of Robert Riley, Michael Malgieri, Nicholas Reha, Joe Seckerson, Andrew Lightbody, Paul Harden, Zachery Surrett, Ryan Sussman, Paul Harden, Semaj Reed, and Emilio Serse were not consistent at the point of attack.
  • On defense, the Eagles were unable to handle the Giants at the line of scrimmage. The Eagles could not match the speed of the Giants running backs and receivers. The defense failed to finish many plays because of poor tackling. As always, the linebackers and secondary were forced to make the majority of the tackles. The secondary and linebackers Eric Byrd, Steven Bohr, Byron Thomas, Anthony Zanetich, Danny Sommer, Kevin McDonnell, Toby Lee, and Mike Malgieri, were hard pressed all game long. Defensive linemen Ryan Sussman, Jonathan Spanakos, James Elliot, Stephen Nester, Paul Harden, Paul Harden, Thomas Bischof, and Emilio Serse, were unable to control the line of scrimmage.
  • The gritty play on both sides of the ball by Josh Skowronski, Byron Thomas, Javaius Griffin, Kevin McDonnell, Ryan Sussman, Mike Malgieri, Danny Sommer, and Toby Lee was not enough to overcome the Giants. Click to Enlarge...
  • The entire coaching staff would like to extend a special thank you to the Division 3 Cheerleaders, Cheerleader Coaches Emily Reale, and Jamie Stumpf kept the Lady Eagles motivated. The Lady Eagles, Jade Asencio, Kaylee Bergin, Jessica Bicknell, Ashley Briskin, Samantha Carlone, Aneisha Davidson, Fatima Davidson, Samantha Elliott, Stephanie Elliott, Breanne Hecht, Brittany Hughes, Amanda Maxwell, Danielle Satenbergh, Katelyn Scheck, and Maritza Vasquez were always enthusiastic. Their cheers and support were often the highlight of the afternoon. Coaches Jerry Bohr, Kevin McDonnell, Doug Murphy, Bob Schultz, Kevin Seckerson, Mike Spanakos, Lonnie Sussman, Byron Thomas, and Rich Zanetich want to also extend a heartfelt thank you to the parents, family, and friends who staunchly supported the boy's effort on the field.
