051029 New Windsor vs Wallkill
- Sunday October 29, 2005 played another exciting game. After last weeks game who would’ve thought the Eagles had more to give. For a change the Eagles opened up on defense. This week they gave us a little bit of a different look. The Eagles started Dante Paulocci, Nicholas Caldwell, Shane Forrester and Chase Cassisi on the defensive line. At linebacker Matthew Carlone, Mike Tetrault, Lucas Don and Matthew Ulrich. Defensive coach Sean Williams also changed the defensive backfield up a little bit by starting Taylor Williams at cornerback along with Maxx Mckeever and Bobby ONeill.
- The Eagles shut down Wallkills running game during there first offensive series. They were able to muster a touchdown run late in the game but for the most part they struggled all day. When the Eagles offense took the field they were minus Quarterback Ryan Skivington who was out due to an illness. The Eagle coaches felt Noah Fields knew the offense well enough to fill-in and they were right. You would not have figured that this was his first time playing QB. Noah had an excellent outing Sunday.
- The offensive line featuring Sean Hofving, Austin Wixon, Jack Walsh, Chase Cassis, Jordan Wright, Romero Willimams and Matthew Ulrich opened holes for running backs Justin Mitchell, Taylor Williams and Lionell Lucas. Halfback Justin Mitchell saw the end zone with twice and fullback Taylor Williams saw the end zone on a short three yard run. The offensive line provided protection for Noah Fields during the passing part of the Eagles game. Noah completed a seven yard down and out to Jordan Wright who was also playing a new position at tightend.
- Also playing well today was Landon Jennings, Thomas Placek, Justin Allen, Gregory Chrysler. Tyler Allen who has improved over the course of the season is one of the many highlights over the course of the season. Angelo Foster-Rodriguez was unable to attend todays game due to an illness.
051022 New Windsor vs Warwick Gold
- Sunday October 22, 2005 New Windsor Eagle Mighty Mites treated ther fans to an offensive clinic when they took on Warwick Gold at there home field. The Eagles offensive line really came together this week. The offensive line was lead by center Sean Hofving and gaurds Austin Wixon, Jordan Wright, and tackles Adam Wixon and Romero Williams along with tightends Noah Fields and Angelo Foster-Rodriguez. As a unit they had there best game of the season by far.
- The offense opened up with a quick score by fullback Taylor Williams who broke a couple of tackles on his way to the endzone on the Eagles first offensive play. On the very next play Justin Mitchell found the endzone on an off tackle play to the left. The Eagles then turned the ball over to Warwick because of league rules.
- The Eagles Defense also played a magnificent game. The defense was lead by Big Micheal Tetrault, and the fast hard hitting Lucas Donnellan. They play has been consistent for the Eagles defense all year at middle linebacker. The Eagles got exceptional play this week from there outside linebackers Matthew Carlone and Matthew Ulrich. The Eagles front four consisted of Landon Jennings, Greg Chrysler, Shane Forrester and Nicholas Caldwell. The defense back Case Cassisi, Bobby ONeill and Max Mckeever were all superb allowing nothing to get by them.
- The Eagles saw the end zone on two other occasions Sunday afternoon. Justin Mitchell saw it once again then Angelo Foster-Rodriguez got a chance late in the game.
- The Eagles ran a reverse with Lionell Lucas who also crossed into the end zone but the play was called back because of league rules. The Eagles show cased a few new runners at running back in Matthew Ulrich and Noah Fields. The most exciting runs came from Noah Fields as he spent, shook and stiff armed his way down the field for a couple of long yardage runs.
- Quarterback Ryan Skivington also played a good game as he led his team up and down the field. He is showing improvement each week. Dante Paolucci, Dominick Henricksen, Thomas Moriarty, Justin Allen, Tyler Allen and Thomas Placek all played well filling in at vital points of the game giving it there all. The Eagles next game will be at home against Wallkill.
051015 New Windsor vs Washingtonville Gators
- October 15th, 2005 The Eagles of the Mighty Mites division took on the Washingtonville Gators. The Gators won the coin toss and decided to play defense first. On the very first play the Eagles handed the ball off to there big fullback Taylor Williams who nearly rumbled the length of the field before being tackled five yards short of the end-zone. After that the Eagles were stalled by the Gators defense they could not get across the goal line. When The Gators took possession they also had a hard time moving the ball up and down the field. A penalty call against the Eagles gave the Gators an extra play. The call proved to be a pivotal point in the game because on the following play The Gators crossed the goal line.
- That would be the only time either team would see the goal line area. If you like a good defensive ball game this was the game for you. If ever there was game were the players left it all on the field it was this one. The defensive line featured Landon Jennings, Shane Forrester, Jordan Wright, Nicholas Caldwell, Dante Paolucci, Thomas Moriarity and Tyler Allen. The Eagles line backing core featured the usual crew Matthew Carlone, Lucas Donnellan, Micheal Tetrault and Matthew Ulrich. Playing In the defensive backfield were Maxx Mckeever, Bobby ONeill and Greg Chrysler.
- The Eagles offense gave it there all. The Gators defense would bend but they just wouldn’t break. The offensive line featured Angelo Foster-Rodriguez, Adam Wixon, Jordan Wright, Sean Hofving, Austin Wixon, Dominick Henricksen, Noah Fields and Chase Cassisi. The offensive backs Justin Mitchell, Taylor Williams and Lionell Lucas all played well behind quarterback Ryan Skivington. The New Windsor Eagles played well this weekend they showed a lot of heart, pride and discipline. They should all be very proud of themselves.
- Next weekend the Eagles will take on Warwick Gold on the road. After this weeks game I am can hardly wait until next week.
051009 New Windsor vs Goshen
051001 New Windsor vs Middletown Middies
- October 1, 2005 the New Windsor Mighty Mites took on the Middle Town Middies.
- The Middies came ready to play Sunday. After winning the coin toss and opting to go on offense first The Middies immediately attacked the interior line of the Eagles defense. They ran four straight plays at defensive tackles Nicholas Caldwell, Thomas Placek and middle linebackers Michael Tetrault and Lucas Donnellan. A couple of times The Middies managed to get past the linebackers, When that happened they ran into corners Maxx Mckeever, Gregory Chrysler and safety Bobby ONeill.
- The Middies did score one of there two touchdowns during there first offensive series on good strong run by there fullback. After that the Eagles were able settled down and to keep The Middies in check for most of the afternoon. Defensive ends Landon Jennings and Shane Forrester along with outside linebackers Matthew Carlone and Matthew Ulrich were able to shut down any running attempts heading around the outside.
- When the Eagles took over they wasted no time getting started on offense. They opened up with a new look at quarterback starting Ryan Skivington and bringing in Angelo Foster-Rodriguez. The Eagles running backs Taylor Williams and Justin Mitchell once again played well.
- Justin Mitchell saw the end-zone three times but what was really impressive was the blocking of the offensive line. They were able to create running lanes for there runners. Noah Fields, Jack Walsh, Jordan Wright, Sean Hofving, Austin Wixon, Dominick Henricksen and Chase Cassisi played hard all game.
- Dante Paolucci, Adam Wixon, Thomas Moriarty, Tyler Allen and Justin Allen all provided tremendous support at various offensive and defensive positions. Romero Williams was absent from play today. The Eagles Will be taking on Goshen next Sunday.
050925 New Windsor vs Newburgh
- Good morning sports fans. If you were fortunate enough to come out last Sunday you were treated to an action packed game between the New Windsor Eagles and the Newburgh Giants of the Mighty Mite Division. For the first time this season the Eagles opened up on the defensive side of the ball. The Giants came out in a full house backfield and ran to their right off tackle. It was a play that looked like it was going for a short gain but the runner managed to break by a couple of Eagle defenders to find to the endzone. Defensive Head coach Sean Williams quickly gathered his troops and regrouped for one there best defensive showing of the season. The Eagles defense was able stop the Giants movement either in the air or on the ground. To Newburgh’s credit late in the game they were able to put together a quarterback bootleg for there second scrore.
- What is really amazing about the Eagles defense is there are a lot of first year players who are getting better and better as each game comes and goes. Jordan Wright, Thomas Placek, Shane Forrester and Landon Jennings are all first year Mighty Mites and they are playing like seasoned veterans on the front line. The line backing core is anchored by a quick hard hitting Lucas Donnellan who constantly applied pressure on Newburgh’s quarterback. Micheal Tetrault a first year player who has wowed the coaches all year had a magnificent game at inside linebacker. Matthew Carlone a second year player and Greg Chrysler a first year man are both standouts at outside linebacker. Bobby ONeill is a second year player playing safety is a hard hitter and has a good nose for the ball. Finally the Eagles corners, Maxx Mckeever and Taylor Williams both second year players played very well.
- The Eagles offense was lead by a confident Ryan Skivington who is a second year player but a first year quarterback. His play at quarterback has improved over the past three games but Sunday he truly looked like a future standout out leading his team up and down the field. To say the least his play was very impressive. Behind Ryan in the back field was “The Flash”, aka Justin Mitchell. You just can’t say enough about this kid. He ran a beautifully designed sweep around the left end and found the endzone behind some excellent line and downfield blocking by the Eagles. All plays start up front and anyone who knows football knows offense is hard to learn because it’s all about timing and execution. The Eagles offensive line is made up of all first year players. Center Sean Hofving, gaurds Austin Wixon and Jordan Wright are team leaders. The tackles Romero Williams and Jack Walsh are also first year players for the Eagles. The tightends Noah Fields and Angelo Foster-Rodriguez has been a pleasant surprise all season.
- Angelo is a multi-talented player. He also scored on a long run around the right side. Finally Lionel Lucas who plays wing back got into the action with a long run of his own which fell short of the goal line. The coaches were really impressed with Taylor Williams who plays fullback. He ran with a lot of power and confidence. The coaches are hoping to see a lot more of that from him as the season moves forward. As usual Coach Gregory Wright and Jerome Mckeever were able to get substitutions in at key moments in the game. Chase Cassis, Justin Allen, Tyler Allen, Dominick Henricksen Adam Wixon and Thomas Moriarty all first year players that contribute each and every game.
- Seldomly recognized are the Mighty Mite Eagle motivators The Cheerleaders who are there to not only provide entertainment for the crowd during the game but also cheer the players on to help provide that extra boost when the players need it. During half time they are always ready to take on some friendly head to head cheerleader competition. This week the Eagles take on The Middies of Middletown in Middletown. I feel this will be a game to see.

050911 - New Windsor vs Valley Central Blue
- On Sunday September 11, 2005 the New Windsor Eagles of the Mighty Mites took on Valley Central Blue in Montgomery. Valley Central won the coin toss and elected to to play defense. The Eagles team came out strong running fullback Taylor Williams behind Sean Hofving, Austin Wixon and Thomas Placek. The Eagles followed the two middle runs by running Justin Mitchell to the right side of the line behind there offensive tackle and tightend Romero Willams and Noah Fields. They provided two key blocks on one of Justin (The Flash) Mitchells three scores.
- Valley Central took over and had a rough time finding room to run up the middle against a strong Eagles front four defense featuring Landon Jennings, Jordan Wright, Shane Forrester and Greg Chysler. The Eagles two outside linebackers Matthew Carlone and "Moose" Ulrich made it difficult for Valley Central to gain yards running on the outside. The inside linebackers Lucas Donnellan and Micheal Tetrault did a fine job providing run support. Valley Central managed to muster up a run for one of its’ two score on there fourth offensive play. There fifth play looked like a score but out of know where Valley Centrals runner was tracked down on a tremendous play by inside linebacker Micheal Tetraullt. Micheals outstanding hustle put an end to Valley Centrals momentum. When Valley Central tried to air it against the Eagles they found Maxx Mckeever, Bobby ONeill and Thomas Moriarty were all over the field.
- The Eagles were able to give Valley Central quite a few different looks by Starting Ryan Skivington at quarterback and then bringing in Angelo Foster-Rodriguez for a change of pace. They also ran Matthew (Moose) Ulrich at running back along with Lionell Lucas. Dominick Henricksen, Justin Allen, Chase Cassisi and Nicholas Caldwell did an awesome Job filling in on the defensive line and at the linebacker position.
- Tyler Allen played on the offensive line during the first half of play but had to miss most of the second half because of an injury to his hand. The Eagles are proving to be an exciting and enthusiastic group of players. There next two Challenges are against Pine Bush and Newburgh at home. I am sure it will be an exciting game. Hope to see you there!!!
