060923 New Windsor vs Warwick Purple
  • Saturday, September 23rd, the New Windsor Eagles of the Mighty Mites division took on Warwick Purple in Warwick. It was a hard fought battle in which the Eagles showed a lot of class and poise. Warwick came out on offense first running the ball with the biggest Mighty Mite I’ve ever seen but on this day size would not matter to the Eagles because they came to play.
  • The Eagles defensive line though out sized was determined to not be out played. The line was anchored by the quick moving hard-hitting Sebastian “Bullet” Tinsley and Dominic “The Dominator” Colotti at the end position and inside the much-improved Thomas “TJ” Moriarty and the always-motivated Donte Paolucci. They were backed by the ever pesty, hard hitting and swift moving core of linebackers. Playing right outside linebacker was Mathew “Matty” Ulrich. Playing on the inside next to him was Noah “The Stopper” Fields along with “Big” Jordan Wright. Playing at the left outside position was Ryan “Ra-Ra” Skivington. The always tough Robby Galeano and Jack “The Hitter” Walsh played on the corners with Justin “Scrunch” Allen” playing free safety. I cannot say enough about the group effort that the Eagles displayed Saturday.
  • Warwick was definitely larger than the Eagles but the Eagles team play is what kept Warwick's’ offense on there heals all day. The Eagles defense got a big boost from Adam Wixon coming off the bench to play cornerback. A position he is unfamiliar with but you would’ve never guessed it by the way he played, making two solo open field tackles. Caleb Williams and John Ulrich are two up and coming hard hitting Eagles that also played well on defense today along with the experienced Greg Chrysler.
  • On the Eagles opening offensive series they were able to march down the field on Warwick with that one, two punch of Noah Fields and Mathew Ulrich. “Matty” was able to cross into tend zoneone from 12 yards out on the Eagles fifth offensive play. The Eagles offensive line was consistently able to open up large holes for the running backs to get through all day. Adrian Broe commands the line at offensive center; he is flanked by two big strong offensive guards in Jordan Wright and Dominic Colotti. Playing next to them are tackles Adam Wixon and Jack Walsh. The tightends were Tyler Allen and Robby Galeano. Playing at wing this week was Justin Allen. The offense is lead by quarterback Ryan Skivington.
  • Before the half, Warwick was able reach the end-zone on a play that looked as if the runner was stopped but unfortunately for the Eagles the whistle had not blown and the runner was able to reach the end-zone on a 15 yard run. The half time show kept the Eagles motivated and the fans percolating in there seats as Caley Baines, Julia Sager, Samanta Soriano, Rebecca Algner, Taylor Ricciardi, Briana Bene-Espinal, Brianna Masciola, Toni-Lynn Dilorenzoan, Briana Hurley, Samantha Galeano, Amanda Fassbender and Samantha Fergusen danced like MC Hammer and got down like Salt and Pepper as they cheered for the Eagles. “How can you not love football?”
  • In the second half the game went pretty much as the first did. Fast paced and a lot of good hard hits. The Eagles let Ryan Skivington loose by going into passing mode. He was able to complete a pass to Noah Fields for 20 yards. Noah Fields is proving to be a pleasant surprise for the Eagles coming out of the backfield and showing sure hands on passing downs. Ryan is developing into a good passing quarterback making good sound decisions under the pressure of a pass rush.
  • The Eagles are promising a lot more from their players so Do Not miss the next game. On a side note you might have noticed Mathew Ulrich was not referred to as “Moose” this week. He has stated “that name was good when I was little but I’m not little any more so call me Matty”. How quickly do they grow! Missing from action this week was Lionel Lucas, Brian Masciola, Christopher Masciola, Michael Mulligan and Steven Felgenhauer. Hope to see ya’ next week when the Eagles take on Valley Central at The Mt. Airy Sports Complex at noon.

060917 New Windsor vs Chester
  • Sunday, September 17th, was a beautiful day for football. If you got a chance to see the New Windsor Eagles of the Mighty Mites division play you were not disappointed.
  • The Eagles came out on defense with Sebastian Tinsley and Dominic Colotti playing on defensive end. Thomas Moriarty and Donte Paolucci played defensive tackle making the defensive wall complete for the Eagles. “And what wall it was”. The linebacking core was solid as usual. Playing at the left outside linebacker position was Ryan Skivington, next to him on the inside was Jordan Wright and Noah Fields and completing the platoon was Matthew Ulrich. The defensive backfield was anchored by the speedy Lionel Lucas at the right corner. On the opposite side was Greg Chrysler and at safety was the quick moving Justin Allen.
  • The Chester Cougars tested the Eagles defensive right side to open up the game with no success. They then attempted to challenge the middle of the Eagles defensive front and found that there was no room there either. The Cougars did not find the endzone at all. Every were they turned the Eagles were there. When the Eagles took over on offense they opened up with Ryan Skivington at quarterback, Lionel Lucas at wingback, Matthew Ulrich at halfback and Noah Fields at fullback. The Eagles had a bit of a time with the exchange between the center and the quarterback but once they settled down they were clicking on all cylinders. The backs were able to pick up big chunks of yards on most of the day behind that big “O” line. The line featured center Adrian Broe. Guards Jordan Wright and Dominic Colotti. Tackles Adam Wixon and Jack Walsh and making the line complete were tightends Tyler Allen and Robby Galeano. The Eagles scored early when wingback Lionel Lucas was able to reach the endzone on a long run around end right before the half. At the half many of the fans remained seated for the half-time show which showcased the talents of our Mighty Mite Eagle cheerleaders. The Eagle cheerleaders are Samantha Ferguson, Toni-Lynn Dilorenzo, Briana Bene-Espinal, Caeley Baines, Rebecca Aigner, Samantha Galeano, Brianna Masciola, Taylor Ricciardi, Julia Sager and Samantha Soriano. The Eagle cheerleaders add just that much more to the game. Keep it poppin’ girls.
  • When the Eagles took the field in the after halftime they pretty much picked up were they left off in the first half. Mathew Ulrich was able to reach the endzone after a long run by Noah Fields which found him 5 yards from the goal line. The Eagles put the ball in the air a few times with Ryan Skivington finding Lionel Lucas on 15yard pass. Coming off the bench to provide superb play were Caleb Williams, Bryan Masciola, Christopher Masciola, John Ulrich and Michael Mulligan. Missing from play today was Steven Felgenhaurer. Next week the Eagles are away playing against Warick Purple in Warick on Saturday. You read it right Saturday at 5:00pm. The Eagles will be there providing excitement so come on out and enjoy yourself… See you next week.

060910 New Windsor vs Goshen
  • On Sunday, September 10th, the New Windsor Eagles took on Goshen's Mighty Mites. If you like defense, this was the game for you. The Eagles opened up offense with Ryan Skivington at quarterback, Mathew Ulrich at halfback, Noah Fields at fullback and Lionel Lucas at the wing. The Eagles opened up with a dive play running fullback Noah Fields behind the blocking of center Adrian Broe, guard Jordan Wright, tackle Jack Walsh and tight-end Tyler Allen. The Eagles then sent Mathew Ulrich behind the right side of the line, which featured guard Dominic Colotti, tackle Adam Wixon and tight-end Robby Galeano. The Eagles were able to pick up good yardage on most of their runs but they just could not reach the end-zone.
  • Defensively the Eagles played a solid game. The front four gave Goshen all they could handle behind the outstanding play of defensive ends Dominic Colotti and Jordan Wright. Tackles Dante Paolucci and Thomas Moriarity clogged the middle all day. The Eagles solid core of linebackers refused to budge behind the fine play of Mathew Ulrich and Ryan Skivington on the outside. Noah Fields and Steven Felgenhauer guarded the middle with a vengeance. Lionel Lucas, Robby Galeano and Justin Allen patrolled defensive backfield. Even with the outstanding defensive play by the Eagles, Goshen managed to find the end-zone once.
  • The Eagles half time show was a delight to watch when the Eagle cheerleaders took the field. Struttin’ their stuff were Samantha Soriano, Julia Sager, Brianna Masciola, Brianna Hurley, Samantha Galeano, Amanda Fassbender, Toni-Lynn Dilorenzo, Briana Bene-Espinal, Caeley Baines and Rebecca Aigner. You can tell the girls really work hard on there routines. You Go Girls...
